Belief, attitude and critical understanding. A systematic review of social justice in <scp>Service‐Learning</scp> experiences

This systematic review examined the role of Service-Learning experiences promoted by higher education institutions to strengthen achievement social justice outcomes among youth. We screened and coded studies following Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews Meta-Analyses (PRISMA). Of 555 articles found in database search, 47 peer-reviewed were included final sample. Social construct, together with research location, participants, target community outcomes, coded. Results show effects on (a) fostering significant improvement students' beliefs, (b) stimulating changes attitudes respect development altruistic behaviours their commitment justice, (c) increasing critical understanding sparking questioning processes related personal assumptions inequalities. provides insights into strengths challenges implementing justice-oriented experiences.
